There's lots to buy at our Charity Shops
You'll find the Ashgate Charity Shops in Bakewell, Bolsover, Chesterfield and Staveley. Each one raises valuable funds for us as well as providing an important service to the community and a link with the Hospice itself.
At the shops you'll find good quality second hand clothing and all sorts of treasures in our bric-a-brac. Pop in for bargains galore...and great value. At Christmas time, you'll also find an attractive selection of Ashgate Hospice Christmas cards that are ideal for individuals and companies. As well as visiting our shops, you can get full details about our card selection and other Christmas items by calling 01246 567250. ...Or you can donateIf you'd like to donate items to the shops, we'd be delighted to sell anything you'd be pleased to buy. Just bear in mind that we are not allowed to sell any electrical items or foodstuffs (including jams, pickles etc). We are also unable to sell nursery equipment, helmets, duvets etc due to safety regulations. It is always helpful if you can deliver any items you may have, but if this is not possible, we will try to collect them.Where to find usChesterfield shop is located on South Street in the town centre - there is also an entrance from Falcon Yard. Opening hours are from 10.00am - 4.00pm, Monday to Friday. Bolsover shop is located on Cavendish Walk, just off the main High Street. Opening hours are from 10.00am to 4.00pm. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and 10.00am - 1.00pm Wednesday and 10.00am - 12.30pm Saturday. Bakewell shop TBC Like to work as a volunteer in one of our shops?Our shops are staffed by paid part time shop supervisors and by teams of committed volunteers. If you'd like to join them you'd be very welcome indeed.Shop volunteers give anything from a few hours a week to a few days a week to ensure that the shops run smoothly. We normally ask each volunteer to join in with all the duties necessary in the shop and these range from sorting and ironing clothes, to serving customers, maintaining the cleanliness of the shop to window dressing. All shop volunteers are treated as part of the Hospice Team and we recruit shop volunteers in the same way as we do volunteers working in the Hospice itself.
