What difference do we make?

Ashgate Hospice aims to provide excellent specialist palliative care to the people of North Derbyshire.

We believe that the Hospice has undoubtedly made a huge difference to so many individuals who have suffered or are suffering from a life-limiting illness. Specialist palliative care can help patients and their families or carers in so many ways.

One grateful Mum said recently "You can just feel how wonderful the Hospice is the minute you walk through the doors. Julie felt happy at the Hospice, she really rallied round. She was no longer in any pain and was so much more comfortable than she had been. She absolutely loved the nurses, we all used to have a laugh and it was fantastic that her dog, Millie, could visit as often as she liked; that made all the difference to Julie. The Hospice is not at all how you imagine it to be. I have nothing but praise for everybody there." Sadly Julie passed away after spending six weeks in the Hospice but we continue to care for her mother through our bereavement support service.
